Stage 3 - Start Time 10.00am

Mousehole Land’s End Coast Path (Approx 13 miles)
This section begins in the pleasant little village of Mousehole, which is beyond Penzance and continues along the coast path to Land’s End. Climb the hill out of the village, then head for Penzer Point and continue on to Kemyel Point and Carn Du. The route descends to delightful Lamorna Cove with its cluster of houses and quay. Look for the mermaid sitting on her rock with comb and glass in hand singing plaintively. Continue close to the cliff edge to Carn Barga, past the Tater Du lighthouse (a useful reference point), and then on to Boscawen Point. After a brief inland section descend to the beach at St Loy for a fifty yard stretch and proceed on the path for a mile or so to Penberth Cove which is especially scenic.

Take the path up from the area where boats are usually stored above high watermark, and clamber uphill (there is not much flat ground in Cornwall!) and continue for a mile to Porthcurno on the opposite side of the beach. The cliffs support the renowned Minack Open Air Theatre. Follow the path to St Levan and onwards to the coastal hamlet of Porthgwarra. The route then passes Gwennap Head, now boulder strewn in places, but fine walking and magnificent scenery eventually offer you a view of the Land’s End complex ahead, which will mark the end of the walk.
